Some of the finest potteries in the world are produced in Boleslawiec, Poland. Polish pottery is hand-formed and hand-decorated. The richly colorful painting that is characteristic of Polish pottery developed in the Boleslawiec region. Most pieces complement each other and can be used together or separately.
Polish pottery
is made from clay that is local to the region. Polish pottery becomes
earthenware when it is fired at a moderately low temperature.
Stoneware is earthenware fired at such a high temperature that it
becomes as hard as a stone. The artists that create the Polish pottery
coat all the colored designs with a transparent, protective glaze that
prevents wear and food from sticking to it. Polish pottery stoneware
is chip and break resistant and Polish pottery is completely
microwave, oven, freezer and dishwasher safe. Polish pottery contains
no harmful substances such cadmium or lead that can be found in other
potteries. When using Polish pottery stoneware, you should avoid
sudden changes in the temperate, such as going directly from the
freezer to the oven. To prevent cracking bring the Polish pottery
cookware to room temperature before putting it in the oven. Although
Polish pottery stoneware is oven safe, it is recommended that it not
used in an oven over 350 degrees as it may crack. Polish pottery
dinnerware and cookware will add charm and color to any table setting,
